Alexa’s story
In January 2026, Alexa was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) — a progressive condition that affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord, gradually changing how the body moves, speaks, eats and breathes.
Alexa and her family are moving into a new family home. To give her the independence, comfort and dignity she deserves, the house will need significant adaptations — step-free access, an accessible wet room, wider doorways, specialist equipment and smart-home technology that can adapt as her needs change.
These changes are costly, and they need to happen soon. That’s where you come in. Together, one run at a time, we can help Alexa live a full and fulfilling life in the home her family is building together.
